The advent of technology spawned the development of a small-scale gari production machine by an unknown Chinese company.

Traditionally, processing gari often requires the cassava to be peeled and grated but this Chinese company, thanks to its invention, has made its own peeler and grater for processing gari.

In a video seen by GhanaWeb, the invention of the machine is expected to reduce the burden of manual labor associated with making dry edible pellets and increase productivity.

To give a better overview of the specially designed machine, a lady in the video highlights the different production lines on which the gari processing will be subjected.

Gari also offers starch obtained by mash fermentation and dehydration processes using a hydraulic press.

For the process, the dry edible granules are fried and sieved to obtain its final product.

Meanwhile, the industrial nation of China has been making the rounds about its determination to produce and export cocoa beans.

China reportedly started production of its first batch of cocoa beans in the southern Chinese city of Xinglong and then exported the beans to Belgium weighing 500 kg and valued at around US $ 3,600.

Ghana COCOBOD, on the other hand, expressed concern over development and described the reports as rather worrying for the future of Ghana’s cocoa industry.
