Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate has confirmed its plans for the FachPack event in Germany, with systems focused on delivering fast, high performance and environmentally friendly machines targeting industries such as confectionery and bakery, writes Neill Barston.
The industry showcase, to be held September 28-30 in Nuremberg, has been around for four decades, showcasing some of Europe’s most advanced industrial solutions targeting the packaging industry.
Underlining its commitment to the regional market, Sacmi strengthened its branch in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, headed by Herbert Hahnenkamp, with the business unit acting as a hub for the entire DACH area (Germany, Austria , Swiss).
Specifically, the 2021 edition of Fachpack will see the company showcase JT ADVANCE (below), which is its top model in the new horizontal flowpack machine series from SACMI Packaging & Chocolate, produced and marketed under the OPM brand. The high configurability – a key feature of the entire range – has seen its design target product lines including chocolate and cereal bars, snacks and pralines, items that require high production rates (up to at 150 meters of film per minute).
Low operating costs, minimal operator involvement and simplified maintenance with easy access to the machine (all operator tasks can be performed from the front) have been combined with longer changeover times. short, these being made possible by tool-less adjustments with quick release / locking systems, reference points that speed up the changing process and a fast belt tensioning system.
Hygienic design is a key requirement of the market, hence its prioritization at the design stage. This has led to specific measures such as the minimization of crumb deposit points and guards equipped with supports to allow easy removal of residues.
In addition to its latest generation shrinkwrappers, SACMI Packaging & Chocolate offers a complete range of traditional shrinkwrappers under the Carle & Montanari brand. The H-1K will take center stage in Nuremberg. This new double twist wrapping machine is born from the previous generation of standard Carle & Montanari Y871 wrapping machines, well known in the market for their high speed, strength and reliability.
Completely redesigned, this new wrapper offers superior performance to previous solutions thanks to a servomotor controlled feed and a new disc handling profile improving efficiency. With its “not adjustable” function, linen goes beyond traditional principles based on mechanical cams, offering optimum versatility for packaging very different products.
For customers, this means being able to calibrate the investment over time by purchasing the machine to package a specific product (e.g. a rectangular jelly) and then, at a later date, converting it to a totally different product in terms of size and characteristics (eg small spherical solid candies).
As with the JT Advance, hygienic design and user-friendliness are essential, with users benefiting from easy access for cleaning and a new user-friendly HMI touchscreen developed to 4.0 standards.
Giving priority to sustainable development is another priority for SACMI Packaging & Chocolate. Thanks to efficient daily teamwork with the main film producers, the company has managed to integrate new features into its range. Such characteristics are necessary to manage the new eco-sustainable films both in terms of weight reduction (reduction of the quantities of raw materials, at equal performance) and on the new fronts of compatibility of “paper-based” materials. . Sacmi can be seen at Fachpack in hall 1, stand 222.
