Subsidy of Rs2.36 cr paid on agricultural machinery: La Tribune India

The subsidy of about Rs 2.36 cr was paid this year by the government for agricultural machinery to private farmers, cooperative societies, gram panchayats and producer associations of producers in the district, on various types of agricultural machinery from straw management.

Reporting on the matter, the director of agriculture, Dr Surinder Singh, said that a program is underway whereby the latest agricultural machinery for straw disposal is provided to farmers on a subsidy. Private farmers in the district had applied for the program, in addition to farmer groups who had created personalized rental centers, cooperative societies, Gram Panchayats and farmer associations. They buy the machines after getting the approval letter from the department.

These machines were physically inspected at the block level by officers from the Department of Agriculture. After the physical examination, the subsidy payments to eligible applicants began and as part of the first phase, the subsidy of Rs. 14,755,700 for 151 machines from 151 private farmers in the district was provided.

The subsidy of Rs 4,67,200 for 3 machines from Gram Panchayats, Rs 1,68,000 for a machine from Kisan Utpadak Sangathan and Rs 58,01,835 for 61 machines from 43 groups of farmers has been paid successfully. – OC
